I always jump at the chance to bake cakes and cupcakes. Most of my orders are for my decorative cookies. I love making cookies, but I love cakes and cupcakes, just as much. Heck, I love it all!!
A couple of years ago, these new piping tips for flowers came out. They're called Russian tips. I'm assuming this craze started in Russia, hence, the name, Russian tips. They make piping flowers incredibly easy OR so they said. I'm a skeptic, because usually when you see people demonstrating products and you try to duplicate it, it's not as easy as they make it seem. Then, you end up feeling crummy because you've spent your hard-earned money on junk and stuff gets thrown in a bin, never to see the light of day again. When these tips first came out, they were hella expensive. Over time, the price has dropped to an affordable amount. I've been eying them since day one. I bought this set on Amazon for $8.99, free shipping--thank you Amazon Prime.
I baked a cake for Easter and was so excited to use these tips. I watched a couple of You Tube videos on how to use them. I chose to use the rose tip, which is the tip in the lower left hand corner of this picture. After a bit of a learning curve, I was jumping for joy over how the flowers were coming out. I had a couple of goofs, but you just scoop the icing off and try again or just plop a flower right on top of the goof. Here's the beautiful cake with matching cupcakes. I think I'll be getting a few orders for these soon. Mother's day is coming............ Happy Baking, until next time. Thank you!!!!
