There's something about Spring that makes me happy. I live in Southern California, so our weather is pretty mild year-round. But, we do get a little change in the seasons. You can tell Spring is coming when the leaves start growing on the trees and more and more birds come out and sing all day long. Music to my ears, I tell ya. I also love the colors of Spring. The beautiful flowers that bloom. The smells in the air from our Jasmine blossoms. I love it all. These pretty Easter/Spring inspired cookies were so much fun to make! With Easter coming, I have a feeling I'm going to get very busy with all of these fun cookies.
St. Patrick's Day is one of those fun holidays. Everyone wearing green, some drinking green beer, eating good food. Here are some super simple cookies that I decorated for today. Soon, I'll start a YouTube channel and start doing cookie demos. Until then, enjoy. Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
I'm back home from CookieCon, in Salt Lake City. Note to self, never travel on a day when the time changes. Last Sunday, Day Light Savings began. We weren't sure our phones would change time and we had to be up at 5 a.m., so we set our alarm for 4 a.m and 5 a.m. Our phones change, whew!!
My niece, Nikki, and I had an amazing time. We met so many of our online friends and talked cookies nonstop for 4 days. That might bore some people, but we were in heaven, along with a few hundred other cookie-aholics. :) We spent all day Friday going from class to class, learning so many new skills.
Here are just a few pictures from the classes we took. So many talented instructors, we were so lucky to be among them.
I met someone from Canada. She gave me a piece of candy. Delicious!!!
We also got an amazing swag bag that was filled with goodies. The vendors that donated to the swag bag were very generous.
On the plane ride home, we talked about how we couldn't wait to get home and try out new techniques. The time went by way too fast and I can't wait for the next one.
Good-bye beautiful Salt Lake City!!
I'm off today to Salt Lake City for CookieCon!! For those that don't know, CookieCon, is just what it sounds like. It's a cookie convention!! I have so many cookie friends that I've met online and I'm so excited to finally meet them all. And..........do a little shopping (OK, a Lot!!) and learn some new decorating techniques.
I made these mini rose cookies to hand out to my cookie friends. This cutter is from Whisked Away Cutters and it's called the Wonky Rose. You can find them on ETSY. I love it because it's the perfect bite sized cookie. I'm hoping to Periscope some of my adventures at CookieCon, so look for me there. For sure, I'll be posting on Instagram @mlsweetsofficial.
Here's the link to Whisked Away Cutters.
We're all eagerly awaiting the movie release of "Beauty and The Beast". I can't wait to see it. My daughter's friend, Sabina, drew this rose for her. When I saw it, I immediately thought of this movie. I couldn't wait to put it into cookie form. I love it and I have a feeling I'll be using this design often. Thank you Sabrina!!!
